Ujjain is one of the RED zone district in Madhya Pradesh with third highest count of Corona positive cases in the state. In light of the COVID – 19 Outbreak the Ujjain Smart City Integrated Command and Control Room initiated Telemedicine facility for the locked down people in Ujjain. The objective was to provide video calling facility for doctors and patients to interact while maintaining social distance. The key goals of the facility were:
a) To lighten the load on existing health infrastructure OPD by providing video calling telemedicine
b) Acclimatise the residents of the city to automation and smart components in healthcare
c) Introduce affordable and technologically advanced diagnosis methods for the residents
d) Create a database of health and symptoms of patients for easy retrieval, monitoring, prognosis and diagnosis
f) Introduce easier means to access free generic medicines
The control room also organises regular FB Live shows with renowned doctors of the city so that residents of the city may ask their doubts and receive counselling on regular basis.
