Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter. It started in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018. Plogging can be done by anyone as we have to just pick up the litter while we go for a morning or evening jog. We here in Pune have adopted this concept and meet every Saturday and Sunday.

Currently we have taken the Mula Mutha River bank, Deccan. This river is one of the most polluted rivers in Maharashtra. These drives are conducted normally from 7:30 to 9:30 or 10am in the morning. Mr. Vivek Gurav is leading this initiative. We have collected more than 30,000 Kgs of plastic till now.

We started these drives from around October 2019. The Pune Municipal Corporation recognized our efforts and organized the Pune Mayor Ploggathon in December 2019 in which more than 1,00,000 citizens took part. The PMC and the Adar Poonawala Clean City Initiative provide us with garbage pickup vans. We have undertaken this mission to make our Pune City 'plastic free'. You can also join us to make our Pune clean.
