Samagra Siksha attempts to bridge digital divide

Schools are closed for students since start of the academic year owing to the covid 19 pandemic but in Kerala, education department provided digital classes for all classes starting from first to twelve standard from the very first day of the academic year. Digital classes were telecasted through KITE VICTERS TV channel, a TV channel instituted by the government as part of School Education Project.

Students living in remote area and those who do not have the Television sets in their home or smart phones are attending and watching digital classes from local resource centres instituted by the Samagra Siksha Kerala across the state since June 1 st onwards. Children come to the resource centres where the education volunteers provide them learning support.Students from marginalised sectors often require additional support for proper comprehension of the digital classes. The intervention of Samagra Siksha through local resource centres is tailored to address these academic backwardness of children mainly of marginalised sectors.
