Keeping it Green

Alipurduar, a unique  district in the state of West Bengal bordering North eastern state,Assam to its east  and being gateway of all north eastern states  and Bhutan to its north ,having international border at Jaigaon town of Alipurduar, poses a unique challenge as all the stranded persons coming from all north eastern states and Bhutan pass through the land of Alipurduar. 

In this crucial time  of COVID 19 pandemic and lockdown , this district has been able to maintain its ‘green’ character due to tireless efforts and harmonious  coordination of district administration with all line departments. The district administration ,having 4 young IAS officers led by District Magistrate Shri Surendra Kumar Meena, Additional District Magistrate Sri Smrutiranjan Mohanty, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sri Rajesh and Officer Trainee Sri Srinivas Patil, and one young IPS officer Umesh Khandbahale are leaving no stone unturned to secure lives of people from deadly COVID 19 virus. 

Every day hundreds of foot soldiers are coming from north eastern states and reaching the border of Alipurduar. Be it under scorching Sun or wee hours ,Alipurduar administration is taking care of each and every one of them by providing food and shelter and extending helping hand by arranging transportation for them after medical screening to reach their destination and bringing smile on their faces and  thus,  been a major connecting block with all parts of Country .Furthermore , to keep lives of citizenry secure , all steps like home delivery of essential items , mobile swab testing at multiple locations ,fully functional  Pre-COVID hospital with dialysis and ventilators for SARI and ILI patients ,among others have been adopted on war footing .
