A story of hope from Rajasthan

This is Indra, a migrant worker from Madhya Pradesh. When the lockdown began, she set out on an arduous 650+ km journey from Pokhran to her home in Ratlam.

Mid-way through the journey, she found respite at Maheswari Seva Sadan – a shelter home in Nathdwara where Akshaya Patra has been serving freshly cooked lunch & dinner since April 6th.

With a roof overhead and food that would nourish; Indra, an 8-month pregnant mother-to-be, finally found hope in the midst of chaos.

Yesterday, the Government arranged her transport to Ratlam.

Indra’s story motivates us to help more people. How can you help? Choose kindness. Every kind act gives unimaginable relief to those in need.

Thanks to Rahul K Jha, Operations – Akshaya Patra, Nathdwara for sharing the details.
